New Patient FAQ

How long is a first podiatry appointment at Vertex Podiatry?+
New patient appointments are typically 45-60 minutes. This allows Dr. Golan time to review your history, perform a thorough examination, complete any needed imaging, and discuss treatment options without rushing. Follow-up visits are shorter, typically 20-30 minutes.
Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?+
In most cases, no. You can schedule directly with Dr. Golan without a primary care referral. HMO plans may require a referral - check your insurance card or call your member services line. Our staff can also help you verify this when you call to schedule.
Can I bring family or someone to translate?+
Absolutely. You're welcome to bring a family member or friend. Dr. Golan and our staff also speak Spanish, so Spanish-speaking patients can receive their entire consultation, diagnosis, and treatment plan in Spanish without needing a translator.
What should I wear to my first podiatry appointment?+
Wear loose, comfortable socks and shoes that are easy to remove. If you have ankle or lower leg pain, avoid tight leggings or pants that are difficult to roll up. Shorts are ideal if you have concerns above the ankle.
Can my condition be treated at the first visit?+
Yes, in many cases. Ingrown toenail removal, corticosteroid injections, wound debridement, nail trimming, X-rays, and ultrasound are all available at the first visit. Dr. Golan's goal is to begin effective treatment from day one - not to schedule you back unnecessarily.
Is parking available at the Grandview Heights office?+
Yes. Free parking is available in the parking lot at 1500 W 3rd Ave, Suite 120, Grandview Heights, OH 43212. The office is also accessible by COTA bus service on the W 3rd Ave corridor.
How do I complete new patient paperwork?+
We'll send you a link to our digital intake forms before your appointment. Completing them in advance means less time filling out paperwork at the office and more face time with Dr. Golan. You can also complete forms on a tablet in the office if preferred.
